ISO9001:2000
With an increase of 24.96% in 2001,
at least 510,616 certificates had been awarded for
ISO 9001 in 161 countries and economies.
However, according to published
statistics, as of December 2002, less than 15% of
all ISO 90001 certificates have transitioned to the
new ISO 9001:2000 standard. Organizations have until
December 15, 2003-04 to migrate to the new version.
Recent world events and economic
concerns in North America are being cited as major
reasons why organizations have delayed making the
move to the new version. Registrars are expected to
face increased pressure and strained resources as
they help clients meet the conversion deadline.
